Live Implant Placement Course at the British University in Egypt
November 24th to November 30th 2023
The BSID has the privilege of collaborating with the British University in Egypt's Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to provide a comprehensive dental implants course with the placement of 10 dental implants on live patients.

Over the years we have grown to appreciate the needs of the busy practitioner to refine their knowledge of dental implant planning and surgery whilst simultaneously learning surgical placement. Very often, courses can be drawn out over extended periods of time, slowing down the progress of the student. We aim to break the mould by combining relevant implant dentistry knowledge with hands-on training in an immersive week-long programme.
Whilst this is not a full certificate or diploma course, it satisfies the practical requirements of UK guidelines for implant training at BASIC LEVEL. ( STRAIGHTFORWARD PLACEMENT)

Limitations of the course

The course will cover the greater part of the knowledge and skill required to practice implant dentistry in the UK. However, certain areas of knowledge required as part of the Training Standards guidelines cannot be provided in full on this course alone. Subjects such as radiology, pharmacology, medical conditions in relation to implant dentistry may require further reading and/or the attendance of supplementary courses by the candidate. The BSID's Introduction to Implant Dentistry course covers all the main subject areas required, but we still recommend further reading, affiliation with one of our partner associations and regular attendance at talks and seminars to ensure that your knowledge continues to develop and that you fulfil all the Training Standards guidelines.

This course does not qualify practitioners to perform advanced bone augmentation, sinus augmentation or full arch treatments without the supervision of a mentor or course instructor.

Further courses in advanced implant dentistry will be announced in 2024.

Mentoring will be available in the UK for those who wish to progress to advanced level cases through the BSID or our associates and partner associations.
